My cute little catcher

This is my cute little catcher at his last baseball game. He likes to be the catcher despite not catching all that many balls. To be fair that pitching machine is throwing pretty hard. I tried to get him to pose head on for a picture and he refused. So this is all you get but isn't he cute? Maybe I will have a pitcher and a catcher at my house.

Yesterday we took the boys to Arlington National Cemetery. It is such a beautiful place despite the incredibly humbling feeling you get when you look out in every direction as far as the eye can see and see grave stones of heroes who died for our freedom. Nick has learned a lot about Robert E Lee this year in Virginia history so it was nice to reinforce that by seeing his house on top of the hill. I still am blown away by the Tomb of the Unknowns every time I see it. We were there while the church bells rang and I swear I could have cried it was so peaceful and sovereign. Aidan wasn't a happy camper with all the walking but we all survived and hopefully we instilled another layer of understanding and respect in our children. Hoping to continue to cross off a few more sight seeing items off our list before we leave DC.

Opening Day of Baseball

Here are some pictures from Opening Day of baseball. Sadly, that was 3 weeks ago. Nick is on the Angels this year and is enjoying every minute and working hard everyday on perfecting his fastball and change up. He has pitched pretty well this year and continues to improve every time out. If he isn't pitching he usually plays shortstop of first base. Aidan is on the Hooks which is a minor league team in Corpus Christi, Texas. He has awesome coaches and is loving his first year in machine pitch. That ball is coming pretty fast and he has had a little learning curve but he is starting to smack the ball and he usually knows what is going on in the field. He is finally getting the catching and throwing thing down. He has really improved and is really excited to be playing. Looking forward to many more nights at the ballpark.
