Rock Climbing

We took the boys rock climbing the other weekend and it turns out they hated it. Neither one liked it and were very afraid. Maybe when they are older we will try again.

Saying Goodbye

We got together with a bunch of our Alabama friends on President's day since all of the kids were out of school. We also were saying goodbye to the Sullivan family and one of my best friends Kerry. Her family is moving to Abu Dhabi. One of the best and worst parts of military life is the amazing friendships you make. You meet all kinds of wonderful people that turn out to be your makeshift family while you are away and then you have to say goodbye to them a few years later. It never gets easier to say goodbye. The good news is I know these women so well that I know we will be able to pick up whenever and wherever are paths cross again. And Kerry I will be dreaming of a beach vacation in Abu Dhabi next winter while I am stuck in the snow in Wyoming. I might just hop on that plane and come ride camels with you. We will miss you so much. Good Luck in your new adventures.

Scout Swim Night

Nick and Aidan had a great time swimming at Scout Swim night at the Chinn Aquatic Center down the street. Aidan really has put it all together and can swim completely everywhere without any assistance and he doesn't even look like he is drowning anymore. I sat on the side with the Moms and didn't even have to worry about either one of them. Nick was able to pass the swimming tests to earn his merit badge for water safety. We need to go there more often when it isn't nice out because both boys had a blast.

Noah & Caleb's Birthday Party

A few weekends ago we went to our good friends the Sullivan boys birthday party at the bouncy house. Fun was had by all and everyone was thoroughly exhausted and hungry by pizza time. Happy Birthday Noah & Caleb.

Happy Valentine's Day

On Valentine's Day, I decided in addition to a few treats I would actually make them a homemade Valentine this year telling them all the things we love about them and they really enjoyed reading all the little things we wrote. Next year I may steal a friends idea and put a heart on their door for everyday in February telling them one thing they love about their child. It is easy to assume they know these things but children really loving hearing it and I need to do it more regularly not just on a Holiday or special occasion. They had heart donuts and strawberry smoothies for breakfast and they helped me make a homemade heart pizza for dessert. This wasn't the prettiest pizza but hands down it tasted better then any store bought or delivery pizza we have had. It was awesome. Hope everyone spent some quality time with their loved ones this Valentine's.

Mardi Gras

Nick made these masks in French class on Fat Tuesday. We celebrated in true southern fashion with some awesome gumbo over rice and a King cake. Nick was so sweet he made Aidan a mask at class too. He won't admit it but he loves his brother.

Happy Groundhog Day

Aidan helped me make some Groundhog pudding cups on Groundhog day. He loved making them and all the boys promptly devoured them. I got the recipe from the Today Show and you were supposed to use butterscotch chips for his cheeks but I didn't have any so we just used what we had in our pantry. They were cuter in the recipe but my boys didn't seem to care.

More Basketball Pictures

Here are a few more photos from picture day at basketball.

Video of Nick getting a basket. It is around the 1:05 mark.

Rebounderz

On one of our days off in January I took the boys to their favorite place, Rebounderz. We don't go that often because it is almost 45 minutes from our house especially with traffic but every time we go the boys have a blast. They were so exhausted after we were finished. Such great fun and such good exercise.
