Bass Pro Shops and Santa
Jeremy decided that his first weekend back he wanted to go spend all his gift cards from his birthday last year at the Bass Pro Shops. Luckily all 3 boys love that store because their was a 2 hour wait to see Santa Claus. They loved playing in the Christmas section and the toy section and the shooting range. Jeremy easily found enough stuff to use up all his gift cards and everyone was happy. Aidan mailed off a long wish list to Santa which included mostly radio controlled items. He also carried a toy gun around the store the entire time begging his Daddy to buy it for him. Daddy still said no and he cried as we exited the store. He is just like his Daddy and loves everything at that store. I am not sure when seeing Santa will become uncool but I love the tradition and hope it lasts for at least a few more years. And Meg A. we are so sorry we didn't get to see you and only got to see your bowling buddy aka Santa. Traffic was at a standstill when we got out of BPS and we decided we better head home before we were stuck down there forever.
Daddy is Home!
Jeremy is finally home from Afghanistan after nearly 5 months. We are all so happy and ready to enjoy our month of downtime. Thank you to everyone who loved on us over the deployment and thank you for all the prayers and support. We gained a new appreciation for all that God has blessed us with in this life. These are just the photos of my camera. They had a professional cameraman taking pictures and there was even a news crew there so I posted many of those pictures to Facebook if you want to see them. We are hoping that is his first and only deployment.
Silly Boys
Here are a few pictures of my silly boys from the last couple of months. The first one is from a day we got ice cream on one of their many days off in November. And Aidan playing with his sword and Aidan showing off his Indian hat he made at school. It had feathers in the back. Constantly crazy around here and I love it.
Operation Christmas Child
A few weeks ago we filled our shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child. The boys enjoy this project more and more each year and our more and more determined to fit as much stuff as humanly possible into the box. They just can't fathom not having a present to open on Christmas. We have really tried to instill in them each year a desire to help others and give back during the Holiday season so they are not so tied up in what they are getting. This year we are doing Feed my Starving Children with Cub Scouts and donated new toys to Toys for Tots and did care packages for the troops. We also picked an angel off the angel tree. I hope it helps my children remember what the season is really about and that is not presents under the Christmas tree. Note to self for next year though choose boxes that have separate lids to make wrapping them less stressful.
